FarmVille Pic of the Day: Kailanee's year-round spooky Halloween farm

Knifing through a massive field of Black Roses like a river, Kailanee's epic FarmVille Halloween farm is built to impress. Kailanee the player is no less impressive: The screen shot shows that Kailanee is Level 103! The farm is a mixture of Limited Edition Halloween specials from last year and this year. The items most released this year include the Candy Corn Home and Candy Corn Trees, the latter of which we first saw used in Onisuka057's farm.

For last year, there is an incredible amount to count, but the most obvious is the Black Roses crop. Kailanee also seems to have collected all the Haunted buildings, which include the Haunted Castle, two kinds of Haunted House, Haunted Hut and the Haunted Tower. I can also spot the Pumpkin Cottage and Frankenstein Lab.

Flanking the sides of this Halloween infrastructural deluge is the Limited Edition FarmVille Sign (from the California theme event) and the Pumpkin Tower. There are even super rare buildings from last year's FarmVille Mystery Game, such as Witch Home and Antiquated Home. Finally, if you look carefully to the left, you'll see the 3-piece Halloween Train set along with car and caboose. That's a lot of premium cash goods. In fact, Kailanee actually quit FarmVille for some time cause she was upset about last year's post-Halloween 50% discount after she had already spent 400 Farm Cash (which is somewhere between $50 to $100 USD depending on the Farm Cash package) on Halloween items.

FarmVille Pic of the Day: Score a goal at Famramcas' soccer stadium farm

Calling all footy fans, this one's for you. We haven't seen a sports themed farm since turtle derby stadium, but now, FarmVille player Famramcas has created a soccer stadium from his farm by crafting the playing field with grass, hay bales, and hedges. In fact, all the green of the football pitch (which is what the field is called in soccer) is made out of hedges. You can see that the pitch rises above the ground by looking at the bottom right edge, where a row of Crops Mastery signs stand halfway above it. All the goal lines are drawn by white hay bales. Darker patches of green highlight the goal boxes and center spot, which appear to be done with Tall Grass.

To fill out the pitch's surroundings, Famramcas put out a Shamrock Castle as a watchtower to the left, benches for stadium seating around the top, two silos to the right, some flags, a crop cart by the entrance along with a wreath on the ground made of seven White Star Hay Bales.

Although FarmVille did release a soccer theme for the 2010 World Cup, the items were meager and the soccer field they offered was pretty small. Though it'd be nice if he can squeeze some soccer critters in there, such as the Kick Ewe and Referee Cow. But those probably won't come around again until 2014.

When you see or hear the word "football" do you think American Football or Soccer?

FarmVille Pic of the Day: MaizaHedgerow's garden estate

farmville featured farmToday's featured farm is a beautiful specimen crafted by MaizaHedgerow. Throughout our FarmVille Pic of the Day posts, we've seen a variety of awesome hedge maze farms. Some of you might remember farms made by Kathy, Cotopaxi, and others. However, never have we seen a maze with as much style and class as MaizaHedgerow's.

Imagine that in an alternate universe, you own a massive estate, with a huge mansion on it. Now imagine what your patio and garden would look like. If you're like me, you've imagined something like MaizaHedgerow's farm. Any fans of Chris Van Allsburg might agree that this farm looks a bit like The Garden of Abdul Gasazi. With it's perfect symmetry, square tree & crop arrangements, and beautiful hedges, this farm is truly splendid.

What do you think of MaizaHedgerow's picture-perfect garden?

FarmVille Pic of the Day: Snuggle in flower patches at tUlIptrEE_06's farm

We've been bouncing around the seasons with autumn and winter farms, but our local, bipolar fall weather has finally committed itself to the cold, so I felt it was time to go for something spring-like. Nothing says spring like lots and lots of flowers and tUILIptrEE_06's FarmVille patchwork quilt-looking farm is clearly one that's good enough to wrap yourself up in.

The last time we found a patchwork quilt design was Lou Martell's orchard farm, and I don't mean orchard as in lining up a bunch of trees together. That one was actually made of the kind of FarmVille orchard you'd have to ask your friends for help to build. But tUILIptrEE_06's farm is made up of a massive assortment of planted flowers and trees, with no orchards that I can see, but those flowers aren't easy to come by.

She has Morning Glory, Lilies, Iris, Cornflower, Pink Asters, Forget-Me-Nots (Level 90 required, unless you've got the Farm Cash to burn), and Limited Edition Golden Poppies--and these are just the ones I can identify from the zoomed in screenshot she provided. As for trees, she seems to prefer Dogwood, since we've got both regular and Pink Dogwood trees in the screenshot.

But the entire farm is also bordered in a ridiculous amount of trees, with Cherry Trees and Sugar Plum Trees arranged into heart-shapes to decorate the corners. I also see plenty of Fairy Garden Event items, e.g. the Giant Flower and Bell Flower Tree, and some Lady GagaVille items thrown into the mix here.

How many FarmVille flowers and trees can you identify? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment

FarmVille Pic of the Day: AlexisSkrull's petting zoo

A few days ago, I featured a massive FarmVille zoo. However, plenty of folks complained that it was just too crowded and busy. While it was a super detailed zoo, the jumbled appearance diminished its aesthetic appeal. Today's featured zoo farm resolves many of the issues present in the old farm, by attempting a simpler approach to the FarmVille zoo.

Today's featured farm, created by AlexisSkrull, is in many ways quite humble. For instance, it doesn't even fill the whole farm plot and there are no fancy complex illusions to be found. However, the simplicity of the fenced in pens full of animals is charming. It reminds me of the early days of FarmVille and FrontierVille, when all I had was a few animals, crops, and some decorations that I was forced to buy in order to complete goals.

Of course, in reality this farm is far more detailed than my boring starter farm. There are unique habitats and exhibitions built for various animals. So make sure to look closely at the images below to get the full effect of AlexisSkrull's farm.
